Welcome Immigrants
Bechamel Croissants and all sorts of great pastries at the tiny Aux Pains de Papy bakery cafe in Grays Inn Road, London. Production is done right in front of you. You may not be able to get great pastries together with good coffee (and sit down) in regulation-bound France ...... so they have come over here.

Free Knowledge
Vespertine Press' second edition of their excellent London Cafe Guide is just out - a free copy to the first two e-mail responses from the over 450 caterers and clients who have already taken our London Cafe Tour.
You may find you need to come out again and see all that is happening in one of the most dynamic cafe cities on the planet. There is just so much that is new, innovative and 'popping up'. If you haven't yet organised a Tour for your organisation, get persuaded by checking out http://greatcafes.blogspot.co.uk/p/london-cafe-tour-benefits.html
Free knowledge continues via the Great Cafes Blog - over 800 posts to date - and something new every week day.

This Has Legs
A vision of things to come - Giraffe Stop at King's Cross Station. Fast takeaway service as well as some sit down space.
Giraffe (sorry, Tesco) is on to a winner with this concept in high footfall locations.

Café Muse in Hull with shelves made from vegetable trays from next door shop as spotted by my colleague Charles Manners.
Definitely that front room feel. Who says fit outs have to be expensive?

We've Got to Start Somewhere!
Norwich furniture shop Warings has a cafe and the owners clearly were involved from the start. "Apparently we've got to start somewhere?!" say the general sweepers/clearers and washer-uppers Harriet & Jemima Waring.
Great building, good coffee, tasty cakes and stylish furniture.
