Great British Bake Off

Given 7.2 million watched the Great British Bake Off final you would have thought that Chiffon cakes - one of the tasks in the final - would be instantly and widely available.  Congratulations to Konditor & Cook for their Lemon Chiffon.  For the uninitiated, a chiffon cake uses vegetable oil rather than butter and gets its lightness from the batter and foam method of preparation.

Having just seen the film - great acting but does not do the lady justice - Konditor & Cook offer "Your chance to stick the knife in  or celebrate the Iron Lady".  This is one switched-on cake and cafe company  given they have an outlet within the Soho Curzon cinema.  Like the film - in poor taste but clever marketing.

Don't you feel old when CDs are seen as a retro item!  Konditor & Cook's fun take on 'Back to the 80s' good value cakes.  Their outlet in the Soho Curzon cinema on Shaftesbury Avenue is so much better than the usual popcorn emporium.
